We are a thriving club with some excellent coaches and swimmers from competitve beginners up to national standard. All our training is done at either Parkside, Abbey or Leys pools in Cambridge. Most likely children 10 or under would start off in the Academy Squads. Trials for under 11's are held once a month on a Thursday. These sessions can be quite busy so it is essential to book in.
Just send an E-mail to the Membership Secretary to request a trial. Please tell us the information as below so we can assess where you may fit in the program. You should recieve a confirmation of your request within a week.
- Swimmers full name
- Swimmers Age and Date of Birth
- Current level of swimming ability i.e. swimming lesson level, or for current club members please send your recent times
Older swimmers, including Masters, are very welcome and should also contact the Membership Secretary to arrange a trial session.
At City of Cambridge we also have a growing Disability Swimming Squad. The squad competes at open galas and at County, Regional and National Disability Championships. If you are a disabled swimmer looking to compete, e-mail Dave Horne, Head Coach of our Disability Swimming Squad to find out how to take part. Click here to take a look at our Disability Squad web page.
Please note we do not offer lessons or have facilities for leisure swimming or general fitness training.
After completing a trial you will be advised if we can offer a place in the club and will be sent the membership form for completion. Please return to firstname.lastname@example.org to finalise the sign up process.
There is a lot of information about the club on this website. Initially you should look at at the Membership Information section which covers most aspects of the club's organisation.
The club is run entirely by volunteers who are usually parents of current swimmers. The club depends on the help of volunteers. To ensure that you are properly covered by ASA insurance and to comply with our Constitution, all helpers, coaches, teachers, executive committee members and officials must be part members of the club.
Please contact the Membership Secretary to request an application form, and once completed return to email@example.com. The club cannot function without you.
The cost of joining the club is £10 per year or part year per person. Membership is for a calendar year. The club will then pay the ASA for your individual insurances. Membership allows you to vote at the club's AGM and gives you free transport on any coaches used for travel to away galas.
