National Junior Disability Championships

City of Cambridge Disability Squad swimmers Alice Rush and Louis Rolfe had a successful weekend at the National Junior Disability Championships bringing home a total of 10 medals between them.

The National Junior Disability Championships is a short course (25m) competition that is open to all Junior UK Disability Swimmers with qualifying times. Individual medals were awarded within age group and classification (three age groups, 10-13yrs, 14-16yrs and 17-18yrs).

Louis (Category S7) swam personal bests and medalled in each of his four individual events winning gold medals for the 50m Butterfly and 100m Backstroke and silver for the 50m and 100m Freestyle. He also competed for Team East relay team in the 4 x 100m medley narrowly missing out on a medal.

Alice (Category S8) also swam and medalled in each of her four individual events winning three silver medals for the 100m and 400m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke and bronze for her 50m Freestyle.

Alice was also appointed Team East girls captain for the weekend and as part of the relay team brought back silver for the 4 x 100m Medley Relay and gold in the 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay. Team East went on to win the overall competition.
