Thirteen swimmers from the City of Cambridge Swimming Club qualified and attended this seasonís ASA Central Area Zonal Championships held in Corby, Northamptonshire.
Matteo Zampese had a great championship reaching the finals in all but one of the six events he had qualified for. He won gold for both 50m and 100m breaststroke with two 5th places for the 50m Freestyle and 200m Breaststroke and a 7th placing in the 200m Individual Medley.
Erica Meissner came away with a silver medal for the 50m Backstroke with a British International Meet time and 4th place in the 100m Backstroke.
Liam Doonan won his first Zonal medal with bronze for the 100m Butterfly. He reached another two finals coming 4th-50m Butterfly with a new personal best time of 27.23 and 8th in the 50m Backstroke.
Richard Jefferies made finals in all three of his events, 5th in 100m Backstroke, 6th in 100m Butterfly and 7th in the 200m Individual Medley.
Other swimmers making finals included: Megan Connor, 5th place, 50m Freestyle and Sebastian Pettican, 5th place, 50m Freestyle.
Other good performances came from Daniel Mills in 200m Freestyle and 200m Butterfly, with Kate Little putting in good swims in the 50m and 100m Freestyle. Other swimmers competing were Nell Bullard, Millie Emmans, Georgia Hickman, Ashley Trent and Alice Rush.
