Club Championships 2012

The annual City of Cambridge Swimming Club Championships took part over three evenings at the beginning of the month. The championships are a chance for all the new members of the club to take part in their first gala and for the others a chance to pitch themselves head to head against their team mates.

Results this year were particularly impressive as 29 club records being broken. The age group champion competition was very close in a number of age groups, the winner being the swimmer who got the most points from all three sessions of the championships. The trophies will be awarded at the club presentation night on Saturday 3rd November.

Girls Results

7 years and under: Teegan Milligan won gold medals for 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle in which she set a new club record. She added to her medals with silver in the 50m backstroke behind Amy-Lee Blandford who took the gold. Margot Field took two silvers for the 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke. The age group champion award goes to Teegan Milligan.

8 years and under: Audrey Field and Eloise Parton won two gold medals each in this age group, Audrey for the 50m breaststroke (new club record) and 50m butterfly. Eloise for the 100m individual medley (new club record) and the 50m freestyle. Audrey continued her medal run with three silvers (100m individual medley, 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle) and Eloise won three bronze (50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly). Isabel Macintosh won gold for her 50m backstroke (new club record), two silvers for the 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly, and two bronze (100m individual medley, 50m freestyle). The age group champion award goes to Audrey Field.

9 years and under: Tristan Milligan had a successful championship winning six gold medals in total (50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 100m individual medley, 200m individual medley). Karolina Kowalska won gold for the 200m freestyle and two bronze (50m freestyle, 50m butterfly). Charlotte Laing won four silver medals (50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle, 100m individual medley) with Charlotte Richards taking one silver (50m butterfly) and three bronze (50m breaststroke, 100m individual medley, 50m freestyle). The age group champion award goes to Tristan Milligan.

10 years and under: Eleanor Macintosh won four gold medals including 100m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 50m backstroke (new club record) and 100m backstroke. She also picked up bronze medals for the 50m breaststroke and 100m individual medley. Emily Semple won three gold medals, 200m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 100m individual medley, while also accumulating a significant collection of silver medals in a total of eight events (50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 200m individual medley). Nicole Taylor took charge of the breaststroke races winning gold for both the 50m and 100m race, making it three golds with her win in the 200m individual medley. Nicole won silver for the 100m individual medley and three bronze medals (50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle). Agata Wrobel won two gold medals for the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle, three silvers in the 50m backstroke, 200m freestyle and 100m butterfly and four bronze medals (100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, 100m freestyle, 200m individual medley). The age group champion award goes to Emily Semple.

11 years and under :- Saskia Malhotra swam her way to seven gold medals including 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, 50m and 100m backstroke and the 100m and 200m individual medley. She added to her medal collection with three silvers (50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 100m breaststroke) and one bronze (50m breaststroke). Evie Harrington took the two gold medals for the butterfly, 50m and 100m, five silvers for 50m, 100, 200m freestyle, 50m breaststroke and 200m individual medley and two bronze (100m individual medley, 100m breaststroke). Laura Hill won the breaststroke gold for the 50m and 100m, plus silvers for the 100m backstroke and 100m individual medley. Alys Chaffey-Ferdin won golds for the 400m freestyle and 400m individual medley. Emma Burton won silver for the 50m backstroke plus four bronze for the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle and the 100m backstroke. Megan Johnson won four bronze medals (50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 200m individual medley, 100m butterfly). The age group champion award goes to Saskia Malhotra.

12 years and under:- Millie Emmans was on good form winning nine gold medals and setting four new club records. Her medals included 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle (new club record), 200m freestyle (new club record), 400m freestyle (new club record), 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 100m breaststroke,200m individual medley, 400m individual medley (new club record). Hannah Lin won two gold medals for the 100m in individual medley and backstroke, four silvers for 50m and 100m butterfly, 50m breaststroke and 200m individual medley, wrapping up with two bronze ledals (100m breaststroke, 200m freestyle). Jenny Hill won gold for the 50m breaststroke with silvers for her 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke. Hetti Vanterpool won gold for the 50m freestyle, silver for the 100m individual medley and three bronze (50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle). Nell Bullard won five silver medals (50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 50m backstroke) and three bronze (100m and 200m individual medley, 100m butterfly). Nicole Bradford collected two bronze medals (50m freestyle, 400m freestyle) as did Susanna Fraser (50m and 100m backstroke). The age group champion award goes to Millie Emmans.

13 and under:- Becky Burton soared through her race schedule picking up ten gold medals and setting five new club records. Her medals include 50m backstroke (new club record), 100m backstroke (new club record), 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly (new club record), 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 100m individual medley (new club record), 200m individual medley (new club record), 400m individual medley (new club record). She also added two silvers to her total for the 50m breaststroke and 100m freestyle. Kate Little was also on good form winning three golds, seven silvers, two bronze and setting one new club record. Her medals include gold for the 50m breaststroke (new club record), 100m breaststroke and 100m freestyle, silver for 50m and 100m butterfly, 50m and 400m freestyle, 100m, 200m, 400m individual medley, bronze for 50m and 100m backstroke. Lauren Hall did well with three silver (50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m freestyle) and three bronze (50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 100m individual medley). Emily Biggs won two silver (100m breaststroke, 400m freestyle) and two bronze (50m breaststroke, 200m individual medley). Sophia Rodrigues won three bronze (50m butterfly, 400m individual medley, 400m freestyle). Emily Taylor won two bronze (100m freestyle, 200m freestyle). Mollie Gallagher won bronze for the 100m breaststroke. The age group champion award goes to Rebecca Burton.

14 years and under:- Eleanor Johnson won ten gold medals and three silver medals. Gold medal events were: 50m and 100m backstroke, 50m and 100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle. Her silvers were from: 100m butterfly, 200m and 400m individual medley. Megan Griffith won four gold medals for her 100m butterfly, 200m and 400m individual medley and 400m freestyle. With three silvers (100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle) and two bronze (50m backstroke, 50m freestyle). Catherine Gray won five silver medals (50m and 100m backstroke, 50m and 200m freestyle and 100m individual medley) and two bronze medals (50m breaststroke, 100m freestyle). Claire Shawcross won one silver (50m breaststroke) and three bronze (50m butterfly, 100m breaststroke, 100m individual medley). Taylor Hart won one silver (400m freestyle) and two bronze (100m backstroke, 200m freestyle). The age group champion award goes to Eleanor Johnson.

15 years and under Annie Little won gold in all her nine races, her medals include: 50m and 100m backstroke, 50m and 100m breaststroke, 50m and 100m butterfly, 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m individual medley. Alice Rush won gold for her 200m individual medley and silver medals for 100m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle. Emma Deeks won two silver medals for the 100m breaststroke and 100m freestyle and Ella Dunnett won bronze for the 100m breaststroke and 100m freestyle. The age group champion award goes to Annie Little.

16 years & over:- Georgia Hickman won four gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal. Her gold medals were in the 200m and 400m individual medley, 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle. Her silver medals were in the 100m individual medley and 200m freestyle and the bronze came in the 100m freestyle. Samantha Auker won three golds (50m backstroke, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle) and three silvers (50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke). Georgia Crawford won two gold (100m freestyle, 100m individual medley), one silver (50m backstroke) and three bronze (200m individual medley, 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle). Sophie Lankford won two gold (100m breaststroke,100m butterfly) and three silver (50m butterfly, 50m breaststroke, 200m individual medley).Megan Connor won gold for the 100m backstroke and bronze for the 200m freestyle while Amy Bevis won gold for the 50m butterfly. Ellie Hickman won silver for the 100m breaststroke and bronze for the 50m breaststroke and 100m individual medley. Louise Scott won three bronze (50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke). The age group champion award goes to Georgia Hickman.

Boys Results

7 years and under:- Christopher Williamson was our only competitor in this age group this year, he competed in the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle races in which he set a new club record and he will be awarded the age group champions award.

8 years and under:- Louis Byrne won three gold medals for the 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and for the 100m individual medley where he also set a new club record. Oscar Mulligan won two gold medals (50m backstroke, 50m freestyle) and one bronze medal (50m breaststroke). Guy Semple won four silver medals (50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle, 100m individual medley). Jake Double won bronze for the 50m freestyle and Luca Sabbatini-Stockford won bronze for the 50m backstroke. The age group champion award goes to Guy Semple.

9 years and under:- Harvey Skellern won five gold medals and set four new club records. His medals included 50m backstroke (new club record), 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly (new club record), 50m freestyle (new club record) and 100m individual medley (new club record). Cameron Wolstencroft won gold for the 200m freestyle, and silvers for the 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle. Benoit De La Sayete won silver for the 50m backstroke and bronze for the 50m freestyle, Harvey Wright picking up bronze for the 50m backstroke. The age group champion award goes to Harvey Skellern.

10 years and under:- Jake Moxham won seven gold medals including 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m and 200m individual medley. George Whisken won three gold medals (100m backstroke, 100m butterfly, 200m freestyle) six silver medals (50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 100m individual medley and 200m individual medley) and one bronze medal (100m freestyle). Jacek Schmidt won one gold (100m breaststroke) two silver (50m and 100m freestyle) and four bronze (50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 100m and 200m individual medley). Jordan Bradford won one silver (200m freestyle) and one bronze (50m backstroke) and Oliver Cashin won two bronze (100m breaststroke, 50m freestyle). The age group champion award goes to George Whisken.

11 years and under:- Evan Thomas-Mansfield won six gold medals, four silver medals and set three new club records. His gold medals were in: 50m backstroke (new club record) and 100m backstroke, 50m freestyle (new club record), 100m freestyle (new club record) and 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley. Levin Graf won five gold medals (50m and 100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 100m individual medley, 400m individual medley) and four silver (50m and 100m backstroke, 100m and 200m freestyle). Joshua Borrett won gold for the 400m freestyle and five bronze medals (100m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 100m and 200m freestyle, 200m individual medley). Kayde Silvester won silver for the 50m freestyle and Matthew Titman won silver for the 200m individual medley amd four bronze (50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 100m individual medley). The age group champion award goes to Evan Thomas-Mansfield.

12 years and under:- Jake Thomas-Mansfield had an outstanding championship taking gold in each of the eleven races he was in (50m and 100m backstroke, 50m and 100m breaststroke, 50m and 100m butterfly, 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, 100m and 200m individual medley). Oliver Trent won the gold for the 400m freestyle and claimed eleven silvers coming in just behind Jake in each of the other eleven events. Oliver Emsley won silver for the 100m butterfly. Edward Bullock won seven bronze (50m, 100m, 200m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m and 200m individual medley) and Edmund Laing won three bronze (100m backstroke, 50m and 100m breaststroke). The age group champion award goes to Jake Thomas-Mansfield.

13 years and under:- Thomas Harrington won eight gold medals (50m and 100m backstroke, 50m, 100m, 200m freestyle, 50m and 100m butterfly, 100m and 200m individual medley) and three silver (50m and 100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly). Joshua Goncalves won four gold medals including 400m individual medley in which he set a new club record, 50m and 100m breaststroke and 400m freestyle. He also won four silver: 100m and 200m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 200m individual medley. Robert Brunton won gold for his 50m butterfly, four silvers (50m backstroke, 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 100m individual medley) and six bronze (100m backstroke, 50m and 100m breaststroke, 100m and 200m freestyle, 200m individual medley). Charles Fynn won four bronze (50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 100m individual medley). The age group champion award goes to Thomas Harrington.

14 years and under:- Ashley Trent won six gold, two silver and three bronze medals. His gold include: 50m and 100m breaststroke, 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 400m freestyle, 200m individual medley. He earned silver for the 200m freestyle and 100m individual medley and bronze for 50m backstroke, 50m and 100m freestyle. Harry Robinson won three gold (50m backstroke, 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle), two silver (50m butterfly, 100m butterfly) and three bronze (200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 100m individual medley). Daniel Mills won two gold (200m freestyle, 100m individual medley) seven silver (50m and 100m backstroke, 50, 100m, 400m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 200m individual medley) and three bronze (50m and 100m butterfly, 100m breaststroke). Angus Bean won gold for the 100m butterfly, silver for the 100m breaststroke and bronze for the 50m breaststroke. Kasra Aghajani won bronze for the 200m individual medley and Sam Pedder won bronze for the 100m backstroke. The age group champion award goes to Daniel Mills.

15 years and under:- Boris Ledovskih won ten gold medals (50m and 100m butterfly, 50m, 100m, 200, 400m freestyle, 100m and 200m individual medley, 50m and 100m backstroke) and two silver (50m and 100m breaststroke). Bartu Atamert won gold for the breaststroke events 50m and100m, and won six silver (50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m and 200m freestyle, 100m and 200m individual medley). Louis Rolfe won silver for 50m freestyle and bronze for the 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle. The age group champion award goes to Boris Ledovskih.

16 years and over:- Richard Jefferies won six gold and set one new club record: his gold medals are in 50m and 100m backstroke, 50m and 100m freestyle, 100m individual medley (new club record) and 200m individual medley. He also picked up silver for the 200m freestyle. Liam Doonan won two gold medals in the 50m and 100m butterfly, setting a new club record for the 50m fly. Liam also took home four silver (100m breaststroke, 100m, 200m and 400m individual medley) and three bronze (50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 50m breaststroke). Tom Sarah won three gold and set one new club record, his gold medal s were for the 50m and 100m breaststroke and 400m individual medley (new club record), he also won two silver (100m butterfly, 400m freestyle)and two bronze (200m freestyle, 200m individual medley). Adam Tapley won two gold (200m and 400m freestyle) and two silver (50m and 100m freestyle). Sebastian Pettican won two silver (50m and 100m backstroke) and bronze for the 50m butterfly. Liam Barnett won silver for the 50m butterfly and bronze for the 50m and 100m freestyle. Thomas Rootsey won silver for 50m breaststroke and bronze for 100m individual medley. Dominic Pulford won bronze for 100m butterfly, Jonathon Bell won bronze for 100m breastroke and Paul Hodgson won bronze for the 400m freestyle. The age group champion award goes to Liam Doonan.
