Hatfield Swimming Club hosted their Valentines ASA Level 2 meet at the Hertfordshire Sports Village, Hatfield, Herts. The event was massively oversubscribed with the club turning away 96 swimmers and 670 swims in order to run the event to time.
The City of Cambridge swimming club was represented by 34 girls and boys, aged from 9 to 16 over 35 events.
Kate Little (11/12 yrs) won a total of 5 medals on the day, with gold for her 200m Individual Medley, silvers in 100m Breaststroke and 50m Backstroke and bronze for her 100m Backstroke and 50m Freestyle. Millie Emmans (11/12 yrs) was the next most successful girl with a four medal haul. Gold for 200m Freestyle, silver for 200m Individual Medley and bronze 100m Breaststroke and 100m Butterfly. Rebecca Burton (13/14yrs) won gold for 100m Breaststroke and a bronze for 200m Individual Medley. Evie Harrington (9/10yrs) was our youngest winner taking gold for 100m Breaststroke and placed 5th in the 200m Freestyle. Emily Biggs (11/12yrs) took silver for 50m Breaststroke. Annie Little (15&over) gained bronze for 50m Breaststroke and Nell Bullard (11/12yrs) taking bronze in the 200m Freestyle. Emma Burton (9/10yrs) put in a PB to come 4th in her 100m Freestyle, with Nicole Taylor (9/10yrs) coming 4th in the 50m Breaststroke.

Jenny Hill (11/12yrs) 5th place 50m Breaststroke. Megan Johnson (9/10yrs) 5th place 100m Backstroke. Kate Little (11/12yrs), 5th place for 100m Butterfly and 100m Freestyle. Millie Emmans (11/12yrs) 6th place 100m Freestyle, 8th place 100m Backstroke. Rebecca Burton (13/14yrs), 7th place 100m Butterfly and 10th place 100m Backstroke. Emily Taylor (13/14yrs) 9th place in both 50m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly. Evie Harrington (9/10yrs) 5th place 200m Freestyle, 10th place 50m Freestyle. Hetti Vanterpool (11/12yrs) 8th place 50m Breaststroke. Nicole Bradford (11/12yrs) 8th place 50m Backstroke. Samantha Auker (15&over) 9th places in 100m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke. Sophie Lankford (15&over), 7th place 100m Breaststroke and 8th place 100m Butterfly.
The boys found themselves up against an extremely strong field of swimmers resulting in a fine set of personal best times but only Bartu Atamert (13/14yrs) came away with a medal, silver for the 100m Breaststroke. Boris Ledovskih (15&over) narrowly missed out on bronze with a 4th place in the 200m Individual Medley, followed with 9th place in the 50m Backstroke. Daniel Mills (13/14yrs) came in 5th place in the 100m Butterfly, 8th place in 200m Individual Medley and 9th in the 100m Freestyle. Ollie Trent (11/12yrs) had four good results with 5th place 200m Individual Medley, 6th place 100m Breaststroke, 8th place 100m Freestyle and 10th in the 100m Butterfly.
