City of Cambridge picked up two bronze medals in the Midland District relay championships at Coventry.
The boys 13-14 years squad produced the most oustanding performance from the teams swimming, the quartet of Daniel Cox, Ashley Morris, Nathan Miller and Jeff Hill finishing third in the 4x50m medley and fourth in the freestyle event.
The second medal went to the girls team from the same age group -- Helen Dawkins, Miriam Crawford, Krissie Taylor and Rachel Loudain -- in the freestyle. The medley squad of Dawkins, Lucy Squire, Gokce Atamert and Crawford also reached their final and finished eighth.
City coach Tim Westlake was particularly pleased with the performance of the 15-16 years girls freestyle team of Rebecca Chapman, Eileen Gallagher, Louise Kedge and Helen Whitton, who were just edged out of the medal positions.
The same group were seventh in the medley final while the 11-13 year girls (Laura McGowan, Harper Staples, Taylor and Loudain) reached two 100m finals, finishing sixth in the medley and fifth in the freestyle.
